    I am an OTA'er
I've noticed that even though I know how to install apps using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, I only download and use apps/ themes that are available via OTA links.
Even if the app/theme is something I desire, I just skim right past it and forget about it once I find out I can't dl it OTA.

I'm the opposite. I like desktop downloads. If anything goes
wrong with my phone I have all the files I need without having
to remember sites. I only do OTA if the app does not offer a
    DT download.

Perfect. That's not to say I don't OTA it once in a blue even with a Desktop download available.

I should also mention that this pertains to free apps/themes as I don't pay for apps/themes for a phone.

Trust me, once in a while I say to h3ll with it and go the direct route too.
    I should have said mostly

Apps I pay for. Themes, absolutely not. But I go the desktop route as
much as possible whether it is paid or free.

Yes indeed. That is how I usually end up with the non desktop version as well ... hehe

    Agreed.

Op: It's not because it's free or paid that we like it, we do it because we don't want to need to search for the app again.

I lean more in the OTA direction. Just more convenient and less steps.

I keep the links to all OTA software on an html page I created. If I need to reinstall the application, I can just click on the link. Usually when I do an OTA download to reinstall an application, I'm able to get the latest version. The one from my DM maybe outdated, having me to find a way to upgrade to the latest version.

I prefer OTA installs, less complicated no cables/hookups etc... Guess I'm just lazy

Well, seeing as I don't own a computer (for the simple fact I'm barely ever home), I always go the OTA route. But if something I need is only available through DM, I just use my friends PC.

OTA for myself mostly because I hate the Desktop Manager. Just one of the worst pieces of software I have ever been forced to use. No choice with OS updates, but beyond that I have stopped using the Desktop manager.
