Last five years were so fluid for the smartphone OS market that ranks kept changing annually. Here is a list of select vendors with atleast 10% global market share, as per Gartner.

    2008 : Symbian - BlackBerry

    2009 : Symbian - BlackBerry - iOS

    2010 : Symbian - Android - BlackBerry - iOS

    2011 : Android - iOS - Symbian - BlackBerry

    2012 : Android - iOS

    2013 : Android - iOS

    2014 : Android - iOS

    2015 : Android - BlackBerry - iOS ?

iOS peaked in 2012 & Android peaked in 2014 while Windows is stuck in a rut. So I firmly believe that BlackBerry could win back double digit market share by 2015.

    Could be plausible
Don't underestimate Windows Phone however, they seem to be doing some good stuff now and with a big company such as Microsoft, anything can be possible

You don't just go from single digit to double digits in a year. People don't change their mind that quick especially since BlackBerry, the brand itself has been damaged for quite sometime. Seeing that for the first half of 2015, there's isn't going to be a full touch flagship. In my opinion that's not possible. Maybe 2016, who knows. But in my opinion, if BlackBerry doesn't increase their R&D expenses soon, they're going to be in trouble from the likes of the giants integration/ecosystem.

Windows phone has a really good chance hitting the double digits mark if it hasn't already.

Huh how do you know we're not getting any full touch device at the first half of next year?

Windows crash is a grim daily reality. iOS users are not homogeneous like Mac users.

Anyway, I expect BlackBerry to double market share annually.

BlackBerry wants to sell a 10M phones to be break-even.
BlackBerry wasn't able to break even on their business operations for quite some time.
Therefore being break-even is their current goal, which translates into 10M phones sold for 2014, being what they currently want to achieve.

10M phones in 2014, will represent 0.5% marketshare, since estimates are showing that we should have a market of 2B smartphones a year.

Hell yeah, I already see the double digits for 2015!

Windows crash is a grim daily reality. iOS users are not homogeneous like Mac users.

Anyway, I expect BlackBerry to double market share annually.
    0.5 in 2014, 1 in 2015, 2 in 2016, 4 in 2017, 8 in 2018.
So the beginning of the second quarter of 2019, would be "double digit marketshare".

Let's be realistic. If Windows Phone's crash is a grim daily reality, the Blackberry crash is like the driver hit a 16 wheeler head on, was thrown out the window, and is bleeding out on the side walk. To hint that conditions for the operating system may be improving is very intentional ignorance of the unprecedentedly negative news developments coming in.

For example, Blackberry has given up native app development for consumers. Not even WebOS was ever that dead before HP butchered the horse. Furthermore, there is a steady stream of news of Blackberry losing retail channel support and it is struggling to retain its position in enterprise. Nothing bad happening to Windows Phone is close to this level. (Nothing bad happening to any major tech product is close to this level. Imagine the silliness of Sega announcing that they are not going to discontinue the Dreamcast but now it only plays Playstation games.)

Furthermore, there is no catalyst to believe there will be an uptick of BB10 marketshare. The Passport and Classic are uninspired and change absolutely nothing. The company, on the other hand, may survive; but, the cost savings it have made are to the detriment to the operating system as much as a benefit. Forget about double digits in 2015. BB10 is not on track to make the single digits in 2015.
