Is it true that RIM plans on introducing OS 5.x sometime in the next year - and that OS 5 will be (almost) common across all RIM devices, and across all carriers?

I understand this is designed to make the RIM platform more attractive to developers weary from dealing with the current multitude of RIM OS's (thus ensuring more BB AppWorld store apps), as well as make it easier to support RIM devices, since all users (of new or upgraded RIM devices) will be using the common OS 5.x platform.

I understand further that Desktop Manager will also be revved to DM 5.x, and that OS 5.x will support capacitive touchscreens.

    Yes? No? Just wishful thinking?

We've seen a number of year-into-the-future RIM device roadmaps - does anyone have access to the future RIM OS roadmap?
