Let's be realistic . BlackBerry can only offer you a discount off its new sales revenue if anything. This way both company and Consumer wins. Anyone wanting blackberry to dip into its own cash reserves without any new sales are not being honest with themselves.

An update to get bridge functionality and a newer version of android made compatable in a final update. They cant support the playbook forever but this would atleast mean some more apps available and Bridge up to scratch.

I always had a feeling that bb10 and playbook would not be a good match so i can not say i am that suprised with the anouncement, but i would be a gesture of good will to get bridge and better android compatability.

    1) update the android sandbox to 4.2.2
    2) wifi direct - make the PB a large screen for BB10 and BBOS phones

TH talks about the BB10 being mobile computing not mobile comunications, show us this new paradign by using the PB.

Open up the OS so that developers could develop an app that would make the Playbook an emulator of the Z10. All the Playbook hardware would be is a graphic engine that uses the apps and memory on the Z10.

And, give a trade up program to the latest phone (Arista ?) so early adopters do not need to wait for two years to get the latest device.

Unlock the boot loader so Android/Kindle could be installed on it.

I like this idea, but what do you do for those that didn't buy a Z or Q?

Personally, I think a credit of $100-200 for a new BlackBerry product would do it for me. A very nice gesture.

You could give them a discount on upgrading to bb10 or some free apps for os7.

They should do PB+Q/Z10 tradeup for A10
That way people won't be pissed if it seems they got ripped off by buying the new device, and A10 is so much better

Sort of. They are not spending enough on marketing but that pile of cash is a tangible asset. Should they consider a sale, erosion of that asset would be seriously negative.

. . . promised so much, yet it did so little. It was always trying to play catchup, and it is so limited, that you can't really do anything apart from a few core functions
With very little editing, I suspect that will be the epitaph for BBRY as a whole.
