it IS old technology...
the curve 8300, pearl 8100, and 8800 series are all newer and have generally more features...
that doesn't make it useless though...
a lot of people on here still use them and a lot of companies still give them out...
but they will start to disappear in the next few years though...

Although they are kind of being phased out they are sturdy devices!
I loved my 8703e. If you are happy with it I say keep it.
Okay, so it sounds like this is old technology. I don't know if I want to get tied to something that is getting phased out.
What platform is going to be the standard?
When the digital watch came on the scene, I'm sure there were "tech guys" that said we'd no longer have a need for the analog clocks.
Maybe I like "old technology". Like a watch with hands and a car that runs on gasoline.

thats just cause you still use a 7250 :P
One thing about technology is that as soon as you buy it they says it is obsolete
If you are happy with it use it for 6 months keep it in good shape then sell it and buy a new BB
Works for me
The 8703e is going to get a 4.5 update with the 88s, 83s and 81s but that will be it's last update. I'll take it off your hands in 6 months!
I had a curve, then i downgraded to a 7290,and i love it ,they may be old tech, but there a blackberry,so they will never be useless.
What functionality is the update going to add?
HTML email. There was a blog post with all the known features being updated. Have a trawl through the blogs, it wasn't too long ago.
