I have been using a Moto MiniUSB car charger from a V3 Razr I had years ago with my Curve...and it works great.

I have heard that the BB won't charge to 100% from a dead battery with the Moto wall charger...but that might not be true.

All MiniUSB chargers will have no problem with the BB. Be sure to check the voltage and ampere rating though...

The moto charger will charge the BB, but the BB charger has a higher amp rating, so thats why the BB charger wont charge the razr.

moto charger output is: 5.0v 550mA

BB charger output is: 5.0v .75A, or 750 mA

No probs here either. I'm still using my moto car plug in my truck, a generic one in my car, and I have a few moto & BB wall plugs scattered in almost every corner of my house. On occasion my pearl won't charge when connected to my laptop. But whatever.

I would not use a Moto charger for the BB phone. I purchased a moto car charger, and yesterday the phone got really hot, and the charger quit charging. I now only get 4-5 hrs on my phone. The Sprint service tech said that the amps are different and that you will fry your battery if using a Moto charger. He said there was an email floating around with technicians a few months ago, making sure that no one was selling Moto chargers to BB users. This is going against what everyone is saying in this thread, but I know that Technocel agreed to replace my battery, because their rep sold me a Moto charger for my BB. Go figure...

The Moto charger works great and you should charge frequently (top off) your battery instaed of recharging a dead battery.

Does this mean it will take longer to charge the BB with the Moto charger?

Thats complete rubbish. It might have been a faulty charger. It's okay to use moto chargers in blackberrys. I've used one for awhile and so has my friend which has had a BB since they came out and used a moto charger.
