It's been a trick in electronics now for a while.

The absorbing power of dry rice is quite remarkable. As the moisture vaporizes, the rice actually draws the gas out of the atmosphere and sucks it up. This is why you need to zip it up in a bag or completely bury the device in the rice. It's also why it works better to pull the battery out and leave the back off, makes it easier for moisture to escape.

If you blow dry it, you run a high risk of Burning up vital parts on the motherboard!

Wow I just made a similar post about dropping my Curve in a puddle of water...only difference is that I didn't realize it for about 30 minutes and it was sitting in a puddle next to my car....i don't have any rice and the stores are closed around me. The only thing i have in my cabinet is........Ready Rice! The stuff is precooked i think...90 secs in the microwave and its ready lol. Will the rice trick work if i don't have the rice until tomorrow morning and my Curve sits overnite with all the moisture?

Not sure if Ready Rice will work. It's already absorbed a lot of water probably.
