Not to ruin anyone's parade here but what is everyone so excited over? 70k apps at launch? A full touchscreen? Live tiles? These things have existed for years now on every other platform , what's so grand about bb10?

It has been my expiriance that any time someone says something like "Not trying to be a downer but.." that is exactly what they are trying to be.

Nothing really new but all much better plus the power behind the UI aka QNX.

Well, NO other platform has launched with that many apps.

BB10 will not only be available with a full touchscreen.

They're called "Active Frames", not "live tiles", it's not the same thing.

What's so grand about BB10 is the way it is executed... but spending a few minutes going through the main CrackBerry pages would have answered that for you.

I'm excited about having a platform which actually corresponds to my needs... finally.

But likely if we wanted other platforms we wouldn't be here. Besides your overly simplistic analysis of the merits of BB10, we are excited about the evolution of the platform.

OP, here's what everyone's excited about:

It's different.

Just like if you bought a new car or a new home, you'd be pretty excited. What for? Automobiles, 6 and 8 cylinder engines, suspension, etc. have all been around before. So why get excited over a new car?

The difference is, it's different.

The Z10 is 10x powerful then my 9810 and that's all I want. That is why I will be getting the Z10. If a slider version comes out, I will be getting that too. BlackBerry user for life! 14 more days!

Thanks Buzz Killington. But it is not going to work. There is plenty to be excited about. Go look for yourself. Whatever you find, just remember that many aspects of what BB10 will offer has not been announced yet. But what is known is much better than what is out there now. It may seem the same, but it won't be. Its not an android, its more secure. Its not an iphone, its more intuitive. Its a BlackBerry and it will be the best one yet. This is what I am excited about.

I believe the bold 9000 had 128mb RAM. The bold 9000 is a legend. This has 2GB. That's exciting.

OP, it's not just about the things you've mentioned, although I could totally see why it would be for users of particular platforms. Don't take it as a dig, though (see what I did there?)
