LOL. Epic fail. I actually bought my BB9900 for a lower price too (through a BB employee).

Has the Bold 9900 always been there? Also how can they justify the $399 price tag for such an old dated device. Does anyone make software for OS7 anymore?

I bought one almost new on ebay for 100USD. Id rather do that and since tmobile has that option on certain plans with lifetime warranty if anything goes bad ill just get a warranty replacement.

Everyone assumed. I still don't see your point. You're acting like a fortune teller like you knew what was coming. My point is, BB shouldn't be bringing outdated guns. It's not professional for a company that is struggling in taking its new os and hardware forward.

This isn't for consumers like us. It's for businesses who are on old BES servers and need to replace broken phones until they upgrade servers. No big deal.

SMH...... BBOS is what's killing BlackBerry 10. confusing for consumers. Bad decisions are still happening.

If enterprise customers wanted these, have them order them directly from BlackBerry.

you know this was expected... maybe not price itself but Chen did clearly say that they would open up production of the 9900 again... why? because people demand a trackpad device and BB7 sales are still significant. Until the classic comes out this is the strategy for the demand of trackpad Qwertys.

    Z10STL100-3/10.2.1.3175
Yes because they can't execute a simple product rollout. They should have had BES12 single platform to rule then all ready at Bb10 launch and called that BES10. This has stalled Bb10 growth in the enterprise space more than anything, and if you look back to posts that many, including myself, stated back when the PlayBook was required to have the separate Mobile Fusion to manage, people said this would be a huge roadblock to adoption, and we were right. They made up so many bogus excuses for the BB10 delays, when it was simply one: they didn't have the talent necessary to launch a complete product line in a timely manor. So they are having to produce more Bold 9900 devices to cover customers still on BES5.

My point is you're being foolish having huge expectations for something so low key. That was your fault for hyping something that wasn't hyped by BlackBerry.

Legacy lovers will ... love it.
I don't get this legacy/BB10 war ... in a couple of months, BES will drive them all (and more) in a beautiful single environment.
    that's where BlackBerry is : cross-platforms integration.

    Be happy.

No the real problem is that the older BBOS devices still do more than the new ones.

I've just spent my last 3 hours with a legacy (9320) user, to set up and demo his new Q10.
It sure depends of your usage and needs, but let me just quote his final words : "At last ! I'm out of the stone ages". He (50 y.o) was dancing. Litterally.

Apple is in fact re-releasing iPhone 4 for the now "low-end" market.
Is it going to be as expensive as any of the current generation iPhones (including iPhone 5C)?

Blackberry should have just qualified or categorized the type of New Product when they made the announcement. Like "New Product for Legacy Fans". I'm not one (interested in BB10 products) so I wouldn't have cared. Others who still like and appreciate the value in the legacy devices may have be thrilled to buy one off contract...

You could, but you can only get qnx licenses for commercial purposes. Shame.

I don't appreciate you coming on here and calling me foolish. I wasn't having expectations. I just wasn't thinking they would roll an old phone. I don't even see where "new" comes in. If a BB7 phone is "new". Then what are BB10 phones, prototypes? I hope you understand this from a strategic point of view. Point is, it's bad, even if no one else spoke of it. Some media outlet will pick up the news and say " BlackBerry is reverting back to BB7".
Again... people just don't understand. this is the phone to substitute the absence of the BlackBerry Classic... until then this is the phone for trackpad users.

I do not have a problem with the 9900 at this point in time IF it would have had a new camera, better battery and LTE.

My Z10 works so much better than my 9900. The browser is so much for faster and I write this message almost completely with keyboard swipes.
