If the Priv is successful then more Android phones will follow. A slim possibility of a Passport 2 or Classic 2 exists if Android works out and the handset business survives.

If the Priv fails, it's curtains for phones.

Yea I'm sure they have a couple devices in the pipe. Otherwise, if the Android device is a success, there would be an intolerable lead time for the next device.

The Handset division will live or die with the success of the Priv.
With so much riding on this phone, BlackBerry should open up the vault and spend some money on marketing.

I imagine 2 to 3 Product Development groups remaining at Blackberry (Classic, Passport, and Priv), plus R&D group(s). They will continue to develop new devices, there is no pause in Product Development. Whether they materialize into salable Products is questionable, a lot rides on the Priv and it's profitability.

I'd like to see a BB10, All-touch, high-end phone. Unfortunately, all that keeps coming out is keyboards or Android.
Show me a true replacement to the Z30, and I'll buy it.
My Z30 is starting to have issues; so if no all-touch, high-end, BB10 replacement comes out, I'll probably be moving to another phone manufacturer. Looking at the price of Priv and even if BlackBerry release an all-touch Android, why pay a premium for Android? I can get the equivalent for less with another manufacturer.

Same. If BlackBerry doesn't make a premium, all touch upgrade to Z10/Z30 - with BB10, will have to move elsewhere.

Same here. My Z30 is two years old and starting to show its age (and I feel still runs circles around the wife's iPhone 6). I keep holding out for a new BlackBerry and would buy a passport if it was offered on verizon but we all know where that goes. I'm afraid that with the lack of BlackBerry options on verizon (the only network that gets signal at my house) and the new OS looking more like standard android I may just have to start considering other options. That really sucks because I have nothing but positive things to say about my BlackBerry experience for the past 15 years or so.........

Sort of what happened to me with the 9900. I had a 9000 and started hearing about the 9900 on CrackBerry. I really wanted that phone, but it took so long to come, I started to read about QNX and BB10. I decided not to shell out for the 9900 and wait for BB10. That took soooooooo long I ended up using the 9000 for 4 1/2 years!!

I'm very happy with bb10, but I could have been using a nice 9900 while I waited. I guess what put me off was the two year contract. Now that I buy outright, unlocked, I can do whatever I like.

9000 > Q10 > Z10 >Z30>Z30>
