For may years now, mobile phones have been equipped with a radio to receive public radio broadcasts. The abilty to listen to the radio is now offered on very inexpensive budget phones. Why have BlackBerrys never been equipped to receive radio broadcasts? This is especially relevant as BlackBerry wish to compete in the consumer market where devies with the abiility to play radio are are stacking the shelves. It seems hard to belive that there is no space inside the device, even ultra-slim 3G Samsung sliders are so equipped .

There are 3rd party apps that let you listen to radio. Besides ones like slacker and pandora which do not pick up actual station, you have iheartradio and nobex companion which get actual radio station. Also there is the web based moodio at Welcome to Moodio! | Moodio
