Shocking a 4 year old OS with no support was hacked.

Didn't they state they're going to support it indefinitely...?
That was iirc when the new (last) batch of Bolds was going to print... :-)

If you live without electricity, you will never get hacked by anyone but what does it help you?

It is about making actual technology more secure instead of denying progress.

But you're right, no system is unhackable. Risk mitigation is important therefore, and as I keep telling people, raising awareness. Most security threats come from the users themselves, no 30,000$ exploit needed.

    And silly, flimsy, useless P@$$w0rds ... ;-)

"Hacking Team" got pwned themselves by their own stupidity. And this Christian Pozzi (I'd prefer pizza) is a "Security Engineer". *smh*

No kids, cats, dogs, husbands, wives, street addresses, suburbs, phone numbers, DOB or dictionary words, etc... just NO, NO, NOPE!

And don't click on everything in an email, save to a folder first, and right-click to scan with a good anti-virus...

(Bitdefender currently one of my favorites, plus their anti-ransomware app)

I'd be more interesting in knowing their payload delivery mechanism. That really sets the risk bar.

Not being a developer, I dont know what is similar between iOS and BBOS. My first guess, java, but that seems too easy.

No. They never said that. However, they do say it's the most difficult to hack.

BBOS is old tech with almost no further development. Any software is bound to be at a security risk if not updated regularly.

Damn right. I'm allot more savvy than what most think. (GNU/Linux main drive, separate second hard drive for windows 6.1.) I could go all-USB and have a barebones machine (nothing but optical and graphics slot card), but I'm good enough.

6.2 being Windows 8, 6.3 being Windows 8.1 and finally, 6.4.9 being Windows 10 (though they cover that up with "10.0" in the version screen). Wikipedia don't lie.

NT version, not "Windows". There's 3 different windows OS's using the 6.1 kernel.

I thought I was pointing out a typo for 8.1, not some twisted rational response.

    6.x?

    It does, lol...

    6+1 = 7
    6+2 = 8
    6+3 = 8.1 (by above "dot" logic = 9)
    6.4.x = 10

    :-D
