well if nothing else is broken inside (under where the trackball was) then it is very easy to pop a new one in there... I have replaced mine before because I like to color them and you can get em off ebay for anywhere from $5 to $10... I don't have the 8800 but I would imagine it would be the same procedure... you can watch videos on youtube and search CB forum, there is a wealth of info on here!!!
Yes it all depends. You see the rim around the trackball? That has plastic prongs that keeps it from coming out. You need to make sure that the prongs aren't broken. You should be able to find them cheap on Ebay, both the trackball and the rim. Go on YouTube for an explanation on how to place it back in.
Funky ones? No, not really. Unless you want to color it. I do know you can change the LED light in the pearls, but as for the 8800, I dont think you can. Some people have come up with different ideas and had success doing it. Again you can find that on YouTube. If you are going to do it, remember its at your own risk.
Hey dreamtobelieve, is there any other models that the Atomic Trackball works on? I know it already works on the 8300 curves and now the 8800s, is there any other ones that it works on?
Wow, I've never heard it working for the 9000 Bold. Neat. Thanks for the info dreamtobelieve. Sensasian, if the rim is totally broken, no need to worry as your trackball should come with the rim too. You should be good to go .
