Hello fellow CrackBerry addicts!
Following the post about the coming Storm 2, I began thinking of what I liked about the Storm and what possible upgrades RIM should consider when making the Storm 2. Surprisingly enough I found that the Storm met all my requirements, and I don’t feel that RIM should begin to imitate other companies in overstuffing there handheld devices just so they can put some fancy nonsense on the product sheet. The only thing I have been missing in the Storm is the ability to disable the SurePress and use the touch screen as a “normal” touch screen – only because my typing speed, compared to before when I used a QWERTY BB device, has been cut in half :-\
I tried seeing the Storm 2 development from an engineer’s perspective and see what is possible, with the current technology, and what is reasonable to fit in a new handheld device anno 2009/2010 – I came up with the following list of technical specifications, that matches the Storm on some points and differs on others.

As you can see the specs. are very similar with those of the Storm – only notable difference is the screen, the wireless connections and the size, all else is only minor adjustments to the current Storm. The list of wireless network bands are because Europe and US operators don’t use the same technology and therefore the Storm 2, as with Storm, should be produced in two different editions – one for US and one for Europe, possibly one US and another World edition (hint hint :D ).
I’ve made a quick rendering/sketch of the phone as I would like it( the quality is very poor because I’m currently on my laptop :( but I will make better ones once I get the time and make it to my desktop). The images look a bit miscoloured, I don't know why though cause they look just fine when i open them locally...
