I've noticed a series of apps that requiring monthly subscriptions on BlackBerry World. I personally prefer to purchase my apps outright, paying the piper once.

Does anyone know whether this is a trend that BlackBerry World is leaning towards, as a way to foster a direct relationship between the end user and the Dev. Thus alleviating the need to maintain BB World in the future.

Nothing new. Other platforms do it too. As Blaze said, they're just being sneaky hoping you forget long after you stop sing the app. Don't support it.

Go to BBW, My World, My Apps and Games, Subscribed. Should be a button in there to unsubscribe. You can also do it on the BBW site, by logging in, clicking on My World, then subscriptions.

Most of them subscription apps are made by a developer called 'Lystudio'.
