At Snapchat's request, MS has taken down all third party Snapchat clients from the Windows Phone store, including 6snap.

Unlike Nemory's Snap2Chat however, it does not appear to be due to copyright/trademark violations, but because Snapchat is trying to increase the perception of its app's security and believes getting rid of third party app clients will help this.

Snapchat has also said they may start deleting the accounts of users who have used the service via third party apps.

Given this latest move, will BlackBerry soon remove Snap10 from BlackBerry World?

In any case, it looks like the best choice for Snapchat is to use the first party Android app for now until Snapchat gets their security together and officially opens their API to third parties.

Snap10 is dead man walking. Once Snapsaved got their servers hacked, pictures leaked including many that would be legally considered child porn and news of it traveled the cybersphere and the blowback came down on Snapchat itself it was only a matter time before they started coming down hard on all 3rd party apps and banning of accts if necessary. Winphone was first because the user base is larger but BB is next.

SnapChat Blogpost Update on Third-Party Apps

We last wrote about third-party applications a few weeks ago when a third-party app that offered to save Snaps was compromised. At that time, we promised that we would continue to improve the security and reliability of our service and today we’re announcing a change in the way we treat third-party applications.

We’ve enjoyed some of the ways that developers have tried to make Snapchat better. Unfortunately, some developers build services that trick Snapchatters and compromise their accounts.

We want to prevent that from happening in our community. Starting today, we will notify Snapchatters when we have detected that they may be using third-party apps and we’ll ask those Snapchatters to change their password and stop using unauthorized apps.

Most of you will see no difference in your Snapchat experience today. We’ve got some incredible new stuff on the way.
