Do a battery pull with the BB turned on.

    20-30 seconds usually suffices.

Did you try to delete it again after the battery pull? Also, try deleting the email from your computer on the email account.

Try placing the cursor on the date header that is above the "text/email" then press the menu key and select Delete Prior.

Warning, this will delete ALL prior emails.

Go to your combined messages folder, press "t" so you're sure you're at the top. Then hit menu and select "mark prior opened." If that doesn't work, you need to check your saved messages folder and make sure there's not an unread message in there.

A little extreme, but you can Backup to Desktop Manager then wipe your BB.

Options > Security Options > General Settings, Press Menu, Wipe Handheld.

Everything will be deleted except your OS. On Desktop Manager, select Advanced, then File, Open, open your backup file, then select everything except your messages to be restored to your BB.
