Is performing this the same as Cache Clearing?
It can be done in addition to clearing the cache-memory cleaning is something I do a cuple time daily-also doing alt+lglg clear log is good to do as well. This will keep ur phone "clean" so to speak-it is not meant to "free" room up for memory tho-also clearing out sms/mms/emails daily will help as well.

I have no use for it personally. Feel free to run it @ your leisure.....
I do a lot of cut and pasting. It will empty your clipboard. It actually frees up quite a bit of memory for me.
