I have a new8900 and when I receive a call I only have a choice of answer or ignore, I would like to be able to let it run silent instead of hanging up on someone in the which is what happens if I press the ignore button.
I dont want it to be set on silent mode or vibrate but just want the choice of either answering the call or letting it ring (silently)and not disturb others say in the cinema etc. I hope I have explaned myself correctly sorry if I sound stupid.
Thanx

Reason: spelling
I have yet to mess with a 8900 (I wish I had one though ahha) but try calling yourself from a friends phone or something and then click menu when you are calling yourself and see if you can find anything about a silent ring.
You can silence the incoming call by pressing the volume up or down key. If you hold the volume down key, it will send the call to your voicemail. Hope that helps

I ignore, send em right to VM. I really dont see the point of silencing the ringer when its going to VM anyways since you cant answer it, so, ignore works for me.
Because cause if it rings, then goes to VM, i know you hit ignore. If the device is off, it goes to VM immediately. So if it rings a few times and goes to VM, that person will think you stepped away from the phone? Ya dig?

LOL I mean for real, if someone wants to get pissed off that the phone rang for like 3 rings, then VM, then yes I sent them to VM.. because, a - I dont wanna talk right now b - I cant talk right now
let em get pissy LOL
I don't think I'd take it that way I mean, I would rather at least know they were there to send me to VM because they were busy at the moment or something.
The real annoyance is not knowing if they've actually seen your missed call after letting it ring, and then purposely chose not to call you back..

How many times do you call somone, it rings a couple times then go's to voicemail and you think
Did they bounce me, if you go yes they did, you can guarantee they ring back and say sorry hit the wrong button
if you go with nah they hit the wrong button and ring them right back you get bounced again and sit there thinking, damn i wish i had just waited a bit LOL
Cant win with it, I always go with the silent option if im just in the middle of summit and need a few minutes, if im in a meeting or somwhere i cant answer then I bounce it, dunno makes you feel more justified when you call them back hehe.
