5.click import
6. highlight recently imported song "x"
7. right click recently imported song "x"
8. select edit with quick sound editor
9. choose start and end sections of ringtone
10. click preview to hear what section you will be using as ringtone
11. click create ringtone (when you are happy with length...section etc...)
12. close editor
13. connect blackberry via usb
14. drag and drop ringtone into ringtone folder...
15. done...assign ringtones as you normally would..

i had no idea. thanks, db! will give it a go.
dacur you'll be ripping every jam off of every disc you own by tomorrow...

do it once it's SO easy...
if a bigdumb animal like me can do it...
These instructions don't seem to be working for me. I imported a track from a CD using Roxio, but them when I right click on the track as suggested in the instructions, I don't see the "quick sound editor" option.
I only see the following options: Preview, Refresh, Remove, Rename.
Any idea why it's not working for me?
AZA
you have to close the import media section and then go to recently imported media and right click on the square that says "song x" (or whatever) . a long list should pop up and one is edit with quick editor...
-db
Never mind. I figured it out. There are two windows that open when I launch the Roxio program and I was using the wrong one of the two. I found the Quick Sound Editor option in one of the drop down menu in other window and then was able to figure out how to create a ring tone thanks to your instructions. Good stuff.

I'm still waiting to see the ringtones i made show up on the site...
Congrats daddybear! I LOVE making ringtones! So, what's the next ringtone on your list to make??
You can tell a lot about what you think about a person by the ringtone you assign to them in your address book! My mom, for example, has the wicked witch theme from "The Wizard of Oz" assigned to her number. ;)
Shhh...don't tell her!!!
Well done daddy bear!
it was baby got back & don't you deny it!
i like big butts and i cannot lie...
you other brothers can deny..
when a girl with an itty bitty waist puts that round thing in your face you get SPRUNG....
-db
sorry i dont know that song....
...and i am pretty old school... you would think a lot of my music wold cause you to age prematurely
Cool, congrats

Speaking of songs, I almost died a little bit ago. On the Top 40 radio station, the played Skee-Lo's "I Wish"....
I turned it way up, wow, I'm a loser.
i wish i was a little bit taller
i wish i was a baller
i wish i had a girl and if i did i would call her
-db

i'm listening to it right now.
Obviously. :p
