i just upgraded to.52 and lost all my bb messenger contacts. is there anyway to retrieve or how can i ensure i do not lose them the next time i upgrade?

You can not be sure you won't lose them again. Actually, some people are losing them, and some not. It just depends.
If you did a backup prior to the upgrade, you can restore
from it.
The upgrade should have also made a LoaderBackUp.ipd, unless
you told it not to back up

BackUps are truly lifesavers. Glad you got it worked out.
Yep I always backup. Plus all my contacts are in my outlook also.
