Would be nice to see the blackberry logo stamps lit up on devices while in use. Free marketing and would make them more identifiable in the public eye. Perhaps one on the front below the keyboard, and maybe unlikely, but on the back also..

As long as it glowed and didn't light up the whole room. And has a toggle. I'd keep it on most of the time. Great idea.

Yes!!! Classic blue or red would be a powerful glow! Have to make it one unit tho. No detachable back plate I guess? I want

If any photo shop genius's could come up with a concept that would be unreal. Ideally it would be nice to have a toggle to control the illumination...

If the logo shares the same light source from the screen, will be great.

Like how the macbook's logo is lighted.

Man everyone on crackberry gave me heat about wanting the green flashing LED back from legacy because of "battery power". Now I see this.... Anyways, cool idea. BlackBerry needs gimmicks or it will be history before it's relevant again

Cheese. I tape across the macbook lightup apple (which uses the backlight of the lcd--not something a phone can do right now). They need to cut production costs, lower prices (not raise them) and spend cash on advert campaigns instead.

How about instead of illuminated, they move the bb logo HIGHER on the back of the device, say, opposite the camera and flash so it is noticeable when you are talking on it vs being covered in the center of the device....

If you open the back cover of the z10, you see the two pins touching the nfc chip. They could have something similar for the LED logo light.

    I LOVE This idea.

Because: taste. Heck, I think BlackBerry should get rid of the face logo, too. Blackberry's hardware designs are far from generic. I'd wager that their design language is only second behind Apple in terms of recognition.

And risk being un-friended by my cool "friends"?? U cray?!

Lol.. just kidding (although I'm sure you can find threads around here about people being embarrassed or made fun of for "still using" a BlackBerry).

I think I prefer the current stealthy-awesomeness design.

I don't think this idea is "gimmick ". It's good marketing. And it adds some swagger to a BlackBerry.

This is a great idea, not only from a design perspective, but also a marketing one. Heck, if my BB logo lit up I'd feel classy and different. In a league of my own with my BlackBerry.

I disagree. The Z10 and Z30 scream "generic Android phone"...the Z10 especially. The Z30 just feels classy but extremely dull. As far as recognition, I think you need to give that to Nokia.

Yes with a soft glowing flash to match LED. So even facedown you know what what type of message you got.

Thisthisthisthis! Then colours could be clearer, and could even have different patterns! BlackBerry pattern, bbm icon pattern! Twitter pattern So even if you forgot the colour you can see what kind of message it is!
