I live in a poor coverage area and want my email BUT I don't need it checked more than every hour. Is there a way to change the frequency? It drains my battery faster having it check all the time.

Blackberry email is pushed from the servers. You can't control the frequency, other than by turning off data.

the reason the cell phone is draining is because its trying to get a good signal on the server.

Your device does not "pull" information it comes in like a text message

have you considered the network extender which plugs into your home network to create a mini cellphone tower in your house for better signal

signal is slightly too good and phones want to connect to the tower over the extender. I bought and returned two of those already. Thanks for the suggestion though. The main reason I got a BBerry... it is the ONLY phone that works at my house. It gets the same dbm signal of -105ish, but it comes in loud and clear!
