The Slider will be first, it's more likely that it will be BB10 and any future Highend Touch device would then be Android.

But the thing is.... will there even be a highend all touch device?

Nice dream... seeing as hardware is going no where quickly.. not sure why BB would invest anything into a device that has a really limited market... seen this before... everyone clamours for a flagship device with all the fancy specs... then is starts.. well it is too expensive... it does not have this chip or that chip... never ends... need to sell millions of devices to make a profit.... when in reality there are probably under a hundred thousand users who may actually consider it.... so why bother

I do not understand what you would want more from the Z10.

    - The battery and the storage can be as high as you want it with the use of a larger extended back battery and the 128gb micro SD card. You would have more storage space than a $1000 Iphone.

    - The screen has over 300 ppi which is already more than enough for the human eyes.

    - While the Snapdragon S4 is a old cpu, it is still more than adequate for the Z10, with little to no lag.

    - The camera, while not the best, it is still capable of taking some amazing photos, just look to the photo thread in the Z10 forum.

I think I covered all, but with the extended back battery, the phone can last close to three days. And the size is still perfect.

I love the Z10. Just needs a better battery and speaker. But everyone needs the latest and greatest.
My Z30 in a smaller size would be awesome.

I'd love to have a better speaker on Z10. The current speaker is nuts, I tell you.

I don't care much about camera, but I do need some good speakers when I watch Last Week Tonight without earphones

Because Z10 & Z30 sold a lot better than the awkwardly shape Passport,

They sold so many that they needed a billion dollar writeoff. There's A saying about those who fail to understand history...

At least by the time the passport and classic came out, people knew what they were getting into when they bought a bb10 phone.

Was the attraction the PKB or the OS? So they sold 800,000 devices last quarter and BlackBerry makes the best PKB smartphone. That tells you more about the PKB market than the BB10 market. Most every one wants a VKB with a great screen, nice build ,a good camera and a long lasting battery. You can not sell what you do not or did not make.

...and to counter that, the Z10 and Z30 flopped well before the Passport and Classic went up for sale. You can not sell what the buying public does not want.

Did the Z10 / 30 have ALL of a good screen, good battery, good design, good camera, slim and light, attractive. These devices were not as good as they should have been and the carriers had given up promoting the devices. It is also true that both the Passport and Classic would have sold better had Blackberry come up with better designs and specs.

This is just poppycox! As an owner of a z10, z30 and a passport I can say the z10 had a great form factor, sharp display, slim, light. Camera wasn't great but it was adequate. As for battery, that wasn't good but nor was the iPhone 5 battery. The z30 was nice as well. The reason they didn't sell was because carriers, and more importantly reps, had given up on BlackBerry before they were even launched. Even after bb10 was released they had no idea how the OS functioned. Form factor had nothing to do with it. You could put an iPhone in the shape of a banana and it would still sell...

I totally agree!! The only reason I knew about the Z30 was from reading CrackBerry. This phone came out with NO marketing. No one, to this day, has any idea it exists. My friends who see me use it are always surprised at how nice it is. Even a friend with a Note 5 was impressed with the keyboard.
The Z10 is a great little phone too.

You guys want it both ways. You say that the Z models are proof that all touch BlackBerry's will not sell but the reason they did not sell was a lack of support.

The mistake that BlackBerry consistently makes is assuming that there is a market for something different. Almost the entire smartphone market, if they could afford it , want what LG, Samsung and Iphone are selling. Last time I checked none of the best rated and best selling phones have a PKB.

To love your Classic or a Passport and to not need much of a ecosystem is to be a true contrarian. Good on you but don't expect the consumer market to think as you do.

The new Slider looks very promising and it should outsell any of their current models. Would a all touch variant that was lighter and thinner sell more? I think it would.

The other issue is variation of models. The PKB market is not large so every PKB device steals a portion of that market. The Slider will take away from the Passport and Classic without necessarily satisfying the need for a high end all touch.

Didn't they try that with Z series?!? Didn't work!! Blackberry will struggle so long as the OS is limited by lack of apps. Building custom Android with full Google services support should have happened years ago!

when I had the Z30 it was very nice device. I would put it up against any Iphone or Samsung. It was a beast in my hands, who cares how many it sold. As long as the device works for you and last all day, what is the issue?

Without sales you can not keep in business. The question is not what a BlackBerry fan might think but rather what phones BlackBerry should make to rise above our standards. For example, I do not understand why BlackBerry fans here on CB keep on buying PKB devices after repeated DT failures. In 2015, BlackBerry can not count on its user base to keep selling phones.

I really like BB10 but not the device offerings.

I often wonder if BlackBerry gave the BlackBerry Nation a device that they ask for, would they truly buy it. I can speak for myself and say yes.
But when was the last time BlackBerry did that?
Here's the phone, just like the original design. No changes, no variations, fully spec'd.

I needed to replace my BlackBerry Bold 9930 and was anti-all touch phones and was holding out for a Classic type specs which in 2013 didn't exist. Verizon happened to have the Z30 on their website but I spent several days trying to find one at any Verizon retailer in a 200 mile radius and failed. After reading many favorable reviews I ended up ordering it online and to this day I'm still happy with my Z30 but there is zero tech support available except through the CrackBerry forums.
When Verizon rolled out 10.2 in mid 2014 my phone died and when I contacted Verizon tech support the person didn't even know they still carried BlackBerry phones and I was transferred a tech specialist who had no idea whatsoever how it operated. Since I had insurance they sent me a new one. It doesn't matter how great a phone is if there is no carrier support or marketing no one will buy it.
