Any quotes on what the founders think of the situation(s)?

Or what they think of Chen?

If I had to guess I doubt either of them would be pleased, but who knows. Maybe they are happy about it opening up the prospects for BB to continue to make devices.

    I'd also love to know.

I wouldn't expect sunshine and roses, even more so because the lion's share of the current situation is their fault.

Although, they haven't stopped talking/throwing money at things, but they've been quiet about BB for some time now.

I doubt this is true, do you have a source?

Neither Jim nor Mike remain as company officers, and Jim sold all his BB stock several years ago. I'm sure they could speak on BB if they wanted but, as was said above, much of the reason BB is now where it is, is because of what they themselves did (or mostly didn't!) do to address the changing smartphone world.

I guess if your the Boss falling on your sword is part of the deal. What I see as an important factor in the downfall of BlackBerry is the fact that no network was capable of handling the data amounts that iPhone would need to work ,so it was dismissed as unworkable by these engineers. What they really missed was the service suppliers of Mobile saw the iPhone as a devise that could use vast amounts of expensive data and built the system to serve Apple. They then pushed iPhone in their stores in order to sell data packages.

You hit the nail on the head. Apple showed mobile providers the way to monetize data. I was one grandfathered in on AT&T's unlimited data on my 9000, 9700 and 9900 (before going to the Z10). All the devices prior to BlackBerry 10 compressed data. After the initial release of the Z10 I went back to my 9900 until 10.2.1. The difference in my data usage compared to my wife on her Z10 was about 3/4 less data. Think about that amplified. The data usage and business model is 100 percent the reason BlackBerry was pushed out and marketed in store far less than competition. Once that happened we all know where developers migrated too.

Blackberry's reputation has been destroyed by those founders and they won't comment to a company that is falling, including commenting priv.

What possible upside is there for either one of these folks to comment on current BlackBerry initiatives? I'm sure they have their thoughts but both are young enough to still have other professional interests. They are forever tied to BlackBerry, positively and negatively, but they seem to have moved on.
