Is this back faux leather? Or is it plastic? I can't tell.
Plastic would feel really cheap/non-premium. I hope it's not plastic.

I am somewhat underwhelmed by the textured back. For some reason, it doesn't look 'premium' to me! Could just be the pictures.

yeah I saw this at the front but Im not convinced could be good old photoshop job.Maybe thats me still hoping for PB back but im not convinced by this yet has'nt made rounds in BB sites so could be just a photshop job.EH I just want that PB back grip.

I actually think it looks terrible. It looks pretty plasticy and cheap. Even if it isn't plastic, I don't like it. Maybe it is something that looks ehh in picture but looks amazing in person (Torch 9850/9860). Rubberized backing should be RIM's thing. Don't put a cheap plastic thing on it.

There are many kinds of plastics....even ones that feel like leather. I suspect it will be plastic, but a premium one like on the Playbook

Yeah, I can't tell if it's plastic or faux leather or rubberized material. But yeah, it doesn't look very premium in the picture. Hope RIM takes care of that. We need premium look and feel!
Also, as I mentioned in other thread, I want this thing in REDcolor too!

Yeah I know that.The official tease only showed a corner and alot of the picture was blacked out.This just look straight photoshop and its claimed by one person BB sites have not jumped on this for it to be credible.I cant take this but a photoshop job based on original leak.Until we get better clarification from more/better sources I cant take this as real.Actually makes no sense for 2 leaks in what 2 days from seperate sources RIMS better than that.

Until otherwise this a photoshop job for me.

I live in Waterloo and many RIM workers have the device. I have used it and the back is textured but playbook material-like.

I don't think it will be plastic. I hope it's some kind of rubberized plastic like the back edge of the black 9900. I have a white 9900 too and they used plastic, probably because white rubberized plastic would get visibly dirty. But in the case of the L-Series, I think a hard rubberized plastic with that texture would feel great.
