Just noticed this
Hey y'all. I was wonderin if any of y'all noticed in your OPTIONS, You can now select "BLACKBERRY ID"??? I have noticed this on my Storm 2 today right after updating my Windows Live Messenger (2.5.84) from App World. I'm not sure about people running OS6 but on my OS5 I see this. It was NEVER on my device before.

Just went searching for it on my Torch 9800 running a 6.0.0.600 hybrid (which was fresh reloaded yesterday) and lo, I also have that option now. Found it under "Third-Party Options".
Tried signing in but it was unable to recognize my account. Didn't try creating a new one yet though to see if that would work. - 07-21-2011, 05:43 PM #6
I'm guessing this is to do with BBM6 as they are scrapping the PINS for BBID's aren't they?

Do you also have BBM 6? It is required for BBM and shows under my OS 6 options under Third-party applications. I have not installed any WLM updates.

No, what version of BBID?
Sorry

I also have Storm 2, I do not have the option for BBID in my options, just tried and downloaded the Messanger, and I still do not have BBID in options.
I have BBM 6 installed on my BB and am running v5.0.0.1015. Wonder what is different? - 07-21-2011, 06:12 PM #14

I'm currently runnin .600 on my 9800 as well as 6.0.0.111 BBM. No options for me, I have nothing in third party applications. Wonder what triggers it?

Like said earlier, i think it is something to do with the 6.0 version of bbm
- 07-21-2011, 06:39 PM #20
No BBM6 here on my 9780 with .576 Hybrid. I'm on Vodafone Germany, but I see the BBID at thirdparty-options. Can not log in.

This is definitely to do with the new BBM 6.0 capabilities and applications that make use of it. I've had the latest filescout on my berry for a while and just updated to BBM 6 beta again on my device, as soon as I opened filescout I was prompted to complete bbm integration and a BBID update was downloaded to my 9550. Phone is rebooting now but I'm sure I will be seeing the new options menu item when it's rebooted.

Yep! That's confirmed. I now have the BBID settings in my options menu and, after signing in there, filescout completed its connection to BBM.
