Another problem for BlackBerry's John Chen: His wife loves her Samsung - The Globe and Mail

John Chen's wife using a Samsung phone until he "takes it away." I kind of doubt he took it away, probably just asked her to use a blackberry. Also, I wonder if this is something that happened more this time last year, rather than recently.

Another problem? Was there something else? And really, who cares what phone his wife is using. She doesn't work for BlackBerry. Eric Schmidt of Google using a BlackBerry is a bigger story.

What's the problem? BlackBerry supports android devices so where is the conflict? The Chen family has just chosen to support BYOD.

Well, why not? I can imagine than Mr. Chen asks, why she uses it and what makes a Samsung so good?

this never hurts to make better Blackberries at the end. i can imagine that she is not very tech-savvy. So there are sure 4-5 points she can make, which Mr. Chen can use for future projects.

John Chen himself didn't use a BlackBerry before he was hired so how is this even news? Also, the part about Chen's wife and the rest of the article don't even go together. It's almost as though the author tried to force this into his article. Just a Ba-bad article.

All it proves is that Smartphone decisions are very personal and what's good for one may not be good for another.

Chen's response should be that BB is focused on the enterprise user and his wife is not one and that BB gets itself in trouble when trying to chase consumers

Is John Chen's wife a corporate executive? If not she's not BlackBerry's target customer, so her not using a BlackBerry is fine.
