We are still seeing a lot of lurid desperate fantasies that the next phone from BlackBerry is a hypervisoring dual-booting device.

Lets consider a scenario - it comes out and its just an android phone - I'd ask those holding out in small rooms...

    What now?

I don't care for "just an android phone". I just had to use Android over the summer and it is not for me. Yes, manufacturers ship gazillions of Android devices, but I just don't care, just as I don't care about all the McD burgers.

I am sure I am not the only one and will consider all the spying phone alternatives.

We just needed another thread about this didn't we. Some opinions are so important, they need their own title instead of just copy and pasting the opinion on the 30 other threads about this.

I, personally, just want BlackBerry to succeed... I have doubts that this device will make an impact despite the current buzz, but I would absolutely love to be proven wrong... I don't think I'll be buying this particular device, (sliders are the ugliest form factor on a device, in my opinion...) but if this thing pops out with something yielding a form factor more appropriate to my tastes, I'd consider it as a secondary... Android OS isn't for me... At least not as my daily driver. I'll happily use my Classic as is... Fits all my needs now, I'm sure it will down the road as well... My 9900 still fits my needs... The Venice is an option for some (hopefully enough to generate a decent revenue or at least contribute positively in some way), but it's just not the device for me... Interested to see how it unfolds though, and definitely hoping for the best!

    Yes.

More seriously thus isn't about debating if the phone will be android or not - it's about those who it is a article of faith that bb10 is the only OS will do when an android device is announced. So this thread assume that is true.

Well then they will just have to wait for the next BlackBerry 10 to be released.

Get ready to believe as all roads are leading to that direction. Especially with the latest vid clips shown all over. At this point with all the hype, I would be disappointed if it was running anything but Android. As much as I love BB10 it's time for a change and a start in a new direction. BB may pick up some fans along the way that they can some day return to their own OS and not have to depend on Android as a last ditch effort

But its not. Its a dual booting phone that will run Android and BB10 and on top of that BB10 will have full access to Google services. On top of that you will be able to delete the Android partition if you want and keep only BB10 on the phone while retaining Google Services.

Of course a bb10 version will be released. Chen has said it many times that he needs to build a bb10 phone or else he will lose the enterprise customers
