When you recharge at 50%, do you turn the phone off first? I guess I"m asking is it okay to use the phone while plugged into the charger? A friend says it wasn't good for the battery.

I charge my phone whenever I happen to be near a charger.

Alot of Li-Ion devices work off this principle.. very quick charge to 80%, then slow-trickle charge the remaining 20%.

This is why after 15 minutes of charge, it shows you as having a 3/4ths full battery.. It's also a play on the signal indicator because that's also designed to fool the end user into thinking there's more charge than there really is.

Carriers do this so that they can get you just that many seconds longer on a call/data..they dont care about your conversation, but they do care that the few extra seconds = $$ in their pocket.
