First, a little background. I have an 8310 Curve with OS 4.5.0.110. I'm with at&t on a BIS account.

My file limitation on downloads has been around 4.9 MB using the BlackBerry Browser. To combat this issue, I use Opera Mini to obtain larger files.

So, I was surprised (and delighted) last night when I clicked on a link to a 20 MB file using my BlackBerry Browser and was able to proceed with the download.

When did this change occur, and why? Is it carrier related or BIS? I've tried this several times at various sites with success.

Has anyone else noted this change? What carrier? And are you using BIS or BES?

Again, I am with at&t on BIS.

Were you on Wi-Fi when you downloaded the larger file? I still get the "file too large" notification on data, but when WiFi is on I don't get that.

No Wi-Fi for me. The 8310 has GPS instead.
