.uh you would add another 20%. You alright there guy?
    Yep. Just exceedingly lazy

    Roundabout: $100 - 40% = $60.

Prepaid is still cheaper, I hate contracts and a free anything wouldnt change my stance on that, unless the ability to have a BlackBerry on prepaid were to vanish. Then im afraid I'd have to just eat it, and be that sucker that missed out on the freebie.

Bb10 devices might be 700+ without contract though.

I have the 8X, and it's a great phone. The BB7 devices are long in the tooth. But 10 is right around the corner and could radically change the proposition.

    I know
I'm a low-income kind of guy too, and this is why Im always at least a generation behind, which is a-ok with me because i'm grateful for what I have; I never have been the type that needs the newest tech to be happy, as long as I have something that fulfill the wants and most importantly the needs I have, since my BB manages alot of my responsibilities. Example, the 99xx series were announced, and for the majority of that time, I had carried the 9650. BB10 is coming, and I just now got my own 9900. I say BB is the ultimate luxury for myself, but doing whatever is within one's means is paramount, so I roll with what I can afford. As to the hypothetical nature of the original question; my answer is still the same; i'd pass up on all of it and stick with what I have and do the prepaid thing.

And to be really really hypothetical to some point beyond fiction, i'd choose the BB10 device. I mean, what use would I possibly have for iApple or Google? (Forgive me there, just being myself; a genuine pr*ck

Here's what I would do: I would take the iPhone 5 and then sell it brand new and unopened. And then I would buy the Torch 9850 to replace my Bold 9930 and to hold me over till BB10. I would have the phone that I truely want (I love the Bold, but I would just prefer a full touchscreen) AND have some spending money towards BB10. Win win

Not for long. I have no doubt that prices will come down, and RIM will be working on "Curve-esque" devices too.

I'd go with the S3. It's a free phone, so why not. I have zero interest in the iphone5. I'd still get the z10 when it comes out.

I'd take the Bold hands down. But I am a business user that just wants a BBerry. I guess if I circumstances were different I may pick another phone. I used an iPhone and an Android. Good phones, but not for me.

If either handled email, text and BBM like a BIS on a Berry, I may answer differently. For now, I'll have to pick the Bold.
