My first pearl replaced a Nokia that was very similar to the old BB's. Id go with Nokia over the iPhone as no ability to copy/paste would likely kill me.
After hearing AG talk about the E71, I took a look at the specs on Nokia's website. That thing is awesome. If not that, I'd end up going back to HP and pick up their iPAQ 910. No iPhone... Actually, if I could have any phone, I'd want my old Siemens SX56 back...
I also checked out the specs on the E71...looks impressive, but sounds like maybe not carried by any US companies yet.
As for AT&T, I can tell there's not much love for them. In my area, they are the best option, best coverage etc. But I know they have issues elsewhere.
Could never do an iPhone. I *loathe* touch screens!

It's GSM so one can buy it unlocked or have it unlocked.

If you take a look at the specs it definitely outshines almost any RIM device
except in the area of email. And yes, there are tons of Symbian apps that
are available for it. After the fiasco that was the E62, I swore off Nokia, but
this phone is a game changer.

Thanks for clarifying...I should have been more specific. What I meant (regarding the Nokia E71) was that it's not carried by a US carrier, so it would be quite expensive since you don't get the discount with a contract. I haven't checked online prices, but I've heard upwards of $500 for the unlocked version.
That's what I think too. I would get the iPhone if they had a CDMA version without a doubt. Same problem with the Nokia E71, it's GSM... and AT&T is a no-no for me! I wish Verizon switched to GSM or phone makers made all their phones dual CDMA and GSM so we could use them.
