i think smarter phones are killing peoples personalities

Never said I don't get along with people. It was just an observation. That's all.

My wife once called me into the room when she was watching the kardashians. The mother was forced to go out and buy an iphone because that's the only way the 2 daughters would communicate with her.

My family had a minivan. It would've been difficult to carry on a conversation on a road trip with dad driving, mom turned around, and having to speak up so I could hear in the back. Instead, we all did our own things on the road (dad driving, mom reading or napping, my bro playing his games, me listening to music) and then we had our family time at our destination. Just because that might not have been your family dynamic doesn't mean we were less close of a family, or that our road trip habits were wrong or turning us into antisocial zombies.09-17-12 11:00 AMLike 0
- Yeah...the masses have smart phones now vs just power users. There will always be those that can and those that can't. And maybe time has something to do with understanding your own personal limitations/addictions. The average person is soooo much more connected now that they have become 'disconnected'. Communicating in person has lost something for them.
Where as your 'veterans' of the information age just see it as another tool in the arsenal. It enhances there ability to communicate without loosing some of their personal touch.
Very well said. My point exactly.

Ohh I understand but even a kid in a passenger seat.
I am with you. Growing up my parents had an 87 plymouth voyager minivan but there were still plenty of convos that went on.

- I think we had the same van . Also, my dad was also a tense driver (and unfortunately he still is...and he isn't as sharp as he was 25 years ago) and he appreciated the silence so he could concentrate on the road. Now, he freaks out if someone SNEEZES while he's driving!09-17-12 11:07 AMLike 0

Haha that stinks. My dad always wanted to play the states game.
Our van was dark red with wood paneling but the best part was it was a 5 speed manual. I learned to drive stick on a minivan. Lol
