everytime i send a text message with this device, people are saying that they are getting 2 at a time of the same message, can anyone help please

its a known issue with the q.. but i also think it has something to do with verizon.. i have no answer for you though...

Call you service provider. They might be able to resolve the issue.
I had the same issue a few years back with emails sending twice.
They weren't able to solve it, I expressed disappointment as it was a fairly new phone. They ended up replacing it with a phone of my choice.

I wouldn't say it's a known issue with the Q.. I have one, iphones were notorious with that about 6 months ago. It must be the network

My Q never did that. Although my GF's iPhone5 does it on occasion. Don't know why. Does this happen every time and to everyone you text?

It's the network. If signal is bad it sends it twice. Your Q is fine

Does it happen with every contact or just a few? When you are in the conversation window look at the contacts name banner thingy at the top with their profile pic. If there are two profile pictures then the phone thinks there are two contacts in the conversion so it sends it twice. Happened to me once in a while when I first got my phone. BB10 is sort of notorious for having issues related to contacts.
