It's awesome to see that factory unlocked devices get the update. Now why weren't they first to get the update. No carrier testing needed

Same process. The "vendor" has to tell BlackBerry to allow its set of phones to download the update off of BB's servers. You would think that since for factory unlocked devices, BB is essentially telling itself, it would be faster. Maybe not having the carrier SIM in, and checking on WiFi would yield better results? I think Bla1ze said this in a post (I'll dig for it.)

Tks. I'm on AT&T so I wonder if I order an unlocked Z10 from Blackberry whether I can get the update. Tried to get the answer from AT&T but its like talking to a stone wall. Blackberry support wouldn't commit either just saying that their store phones are all carrier directed, whatever that means.

Anyone know when AT&T is going to release the update 10.2 for the Z10 series??? I am getting impatient with the update. LOL

I just received an unlocked Z30 from blackberry. I put my ATT sim in. As soon as I turned it on, it updated to 2141.
