Do you like empower or BB smart email view better and why?

I did the trial of empower and I have the trial version of BB smart email view now but I am not sure which one I like better so I wanted to hear what you guys thought.

I just tried the standard version of Empower Viewer. Without Empower, HTML email is just terrible, which is a shame for a device whose stronger point is supposed to be email. With Empower, HTML looks... less terrible. I'm not spending money on it. I'll try bbsmart next.

How do I get version 4.5 so I don't need to buy one of those after market programs? Can I use 4.5 on my curve?

I have 4.5 & still needed a 3rd party email viewer. Empower Pro.

If I would have read I would have seen it was for the 8800 and not 8330 so that answers that question. lol

OS4.5 (along with BIS 2.5) will give you the option to see your html email natively. You still need to tell it to get the images for each email (RIM claims this is a security issue), but it works. Don't believe there is any issue viewing on TMO.

Yep... I use html emails all the time, they work pretty well with 4.5... infact in some cases, i found the formatting to be better than empower pro with 4.2...

    i;m on a curve btw...

I tried both. I ended up keeping Empower html. Some Emails I received had quite a few graphics. I like Empower because I am able to read the Email text while graphics are downloading in the background. BBsmart had a popup window telling me that graphics were being downloaded. It was annoying. It seemed as though I couldn't finish reading the Email until all of the graphics had finished downloading. So I prefer Empower over BBsmart.

I've used both and I like empower. Emails look better, more usability options, i.e., font settings and layout settings, I think emails load faster with empower. That being said... I can't get empower to work now that I have a version of 4.5.0.77 OS running on my 8830 VZW. You would think that because I have V 4.5 that I wouldn't need a 3rd party app... wrong! I can't get HTML emails to work with 4.5 either, and from what I hear from those that have got it working, is that HTML emails on built-in email program 4.5 OS suck anyway. So... Anyone running empower with 4.5.0.77 on a 8830 on Verizon?

With Empower I'm able to highlight the Email address from the sender in the header so that I can copy and paste the Email address to my address book, documents, etc. I'm unable to do so using BBsmart. It will not allow me to move my mouse pointer within the Email header, it pratically stays within the body of the Email.

I purchased Empower pro and I still have to go to menu, get images. I have it configured to show images, but it's not automatic. The html is just fine, but I'm running os 4.5 so I don't need it just for the html. Is this normal?
