how to store spare blackberry
what would be the best way to maintain a old spare blackberry to prevent the battery from being discharged to such a low state it may not come back to life? Other than taking the phone out of the drawer once every few months and cycling the battery does anybody know of a way to store the battery so it will not be completed depleted?

I haven't tried my backup in months but I put it away with the battery around 80% and out of the phone. Might dig it out and see a little later.

My approach has always been to keep two batteries and alternate between them. This way both batteries are being cycled regularly. I have a drop in charger so both can be charged overnight if necessary.

I don't think there's a way to keep them from completely depleting. Glamourpets probably has the best solution.

Just dug the old tour out. Battery at 50% has been out since November.

I would suggest charging your spare BlackBerry's battery every once in a while, to have it handy as a back-up device in case of emergency, and to also keep the battery functioning at some level. I'm not a battery expert or BlackBerry expert by any means; but having a spare battery as a back-up is good in case you need it.

I tend to charge my spare once a month has kept my 9000 functioning for the last few years as I had to use it recently when I broke my 9780
