I have an 8830, am an avid user and this is my 3rd phone but this one is now controlled by BB server (owned by employer).
Here's what got me into trouble; I tried to copy my contacts from the phone to my personal outlook contacts (which I couldnt do by the way) but had to setup my phone to sync with outlook.
I now get at least 20 emails per day from Blackberry service, trying to sync with my personal email.
I used desktop manager to remove my email but evidently cant do that as the emails continue.
If your new phone is on your employer's BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the IT dep't needs to complete your activation, then give you a one-time activation password for you to use to complete it on your device.
If you're not on BES, then delete Desktop Manager and reinstall it, selecting BIS instead of BES.
