I have a Storm I tried to reset factory settings. ie: options Menu then security options. But then There is no General settings or BB menu or wipe handheld etc. Then also how do you know weather they have been reset.

You'll know it's been reset because you'll have a device with no data on it......

And you'll have to go thru the Setup Wizard again.
