i come to notice that people, including celebrities, update their blackberry every three months. Do you people follow this trend? if so, how long do you stay with your blackberry?

As often as I can manage. Having the newest technology is a tough job but someone has to do it.

Whenever: A) A newer device is released, and/or B) whenever AT&T has a great deal on it.

Its my first and I dont plan to change it for a long time. Once a phone or any electronic device is set with dozens of my preferences I hate changing the device and redoing everything. I will go for the bold once its out and old! Maybe after a year and a half or so from now...

Not as often as I like! Maybe once a year. Unless someone in my family gets a new one, I get their old one for free then! lol

This is my first berry but hopefully will have this for a year or two. How does everyone else upgrade so often? Are you paying full retail and ebaying the previous? With Verizon at least you have to wait almost 2 years before they will give you a deal on a new phone (with a contract renewal of course).

I just buy what I want on ebay when I can get it and when i can afford it... No contracts. 8830 now, and as soon as I can, the Javelin or Bold... We'll see what comes to being available...

When I want a new phone, I just buy it; normally paying full cost. My Pearl is the 1st phone I ever got off eBay, but I had that one less than 2 weeks before getting it replaced with a new one.

I just got my Curve in March, it was necessary for business use. I think I might get the Bold in a year or so. I want to see how it's reviewed first. Test it out and such.

It depends on what is coming out. I'll get the Bold. Prior to my Curve, I averaged at least two cell phones a year.

Yeah It does seem like they upgrade rather quickly, but I won't it's my first Berry, so I have a couple of years, which seems like forever for me cause I get bored fast, I love electronic gadgets.

so basically you all upgrade whenever a new bb comes out?where do you get the money to do this? with bils and all, i have no time to purchase a new phone. Im going to stick with my pearl until it dies on me even though i know tmo is pulling out the colorful pearls in Septemeber which will sadden me not to see my phone wheneer i walk into my tm store.
on another note, my one friend told me she just purchases her bb off ebay and then puts her memory thingie and inserts it to her new phone.yeah each unlock'?' device is like four hundred bucks!
