I feel the same as the OP- I love BBM and I would like to use it but I don't know a single person that uses BBM.

WhatsApp on the other hand is more popular than ever. If BlackBerry can make a comeback with the passport everything could change!

I use BBM all the time to keep in touch with my family, including sending text, images and even using the voice calling feature. Definitely my favorite app.

Most of my contacts are on BBM too (240 total) including all my family.

I try to use it as much as possible..but lately unfortunately a lot of my friends and work colleagues have shifted to WhatsApp. And the usage is getting lesser by the day. :-(

Would love to use BBM more; unfortunately, none of my colleagues / friends / family members use BB anymore. Stuck with WhatsApp for the time being.

    Occasionally use BBM...

But, with unlimited texting and quick emailing via the Hub - what's the point? (of having BBM)

well, i believe that BBM is the best chatting app. and though many of my friends don't use it, preffering apps like Whats app or others, but really i use
only BBM.. i convinced friends to use BBM on their phones. my magic and secret for this was :

BBM is the only 100% trust to send and receive messages if signal is there, in addition to speed.. i tried it many times, and it worked.

It keeps your message history when you buy your next smartphone.
It tells you when the other person is in the middle of writing their reply.
It gives you the status of your message (sent/delivered/read) in a better way than email does.
It lets you see if people don't want to be disturbed.
It gives you wifi call/video besically free to "any other make" of smartphone in the world (except windows -but soon).
It allows screen share inculing moving image as well as static image.
    It allows attachments.
It allows a mini-blog called "Groups".
It allows you to use the channels feature.
All your friends can have the app for free from their app stores.
..so actually thats quite a lot of really useful and cool stuff dude :-)

Up until 2 years ago I used it daily with multiple people but now that all my friends switched to other then BB phones we all use WhatsAPP and they are not moving back so I do not use it anymore.
Do they know that you don't need a BlackBerry to have BBM app ?
Also you could tell them BBM got a lot better over the last two years while they were away?

Never used BBM, don't want it, don't need it! And it infuriates me that BlackBerry force me to run it anyway on BB10 constantly draining my battery and making clandestine data transmissions in the background, wasting away my data allowance while it phones home to the NSA having data mined my device
