How many people do you know with BBs?
In your regular group of friends, coworkers, etc., how many people do you know that have a BB??
I have TWO friends with a Blackberry....and neither of them use BBM because they don't know enough people with a BB...not sure if it's an Alaska thing or if it's more commonplace. I sure wish I could take advantage of BBM though!! It drives me NUTS not having any BB friends, everyone I know is iPhone or Android...

My BB to iphone/android friends are five to one. I personally have about 18 BB messenger contacts that are close friends and family, and my best friend has about 40. I don't know if its us, or our area, but BlackBerrys are much more common place than iphones or android phones.

I have 7 Blackberry friends and only 3 use BBM. The other 4 don't care to use it. Everybody else has an iphone or Droid. For them I use Yahoo Messenger (BBM is much better). I've used both the iphone and droid but I always come back to Blackberry.

Quite a few people I work with have BB's, but I think many of them are because BB is the only device we can sync corporate email and calendar to.
One personal friend has one, but he just grabbed a iP4 for personal use and has the Bold for corporate emails only. He got fed up with all the corp policies locking out functionality. (Matter of fact, so did I ... I had BES on my Curve, then ditched it when I got the Bold 'cos I just can't swallow the idea of having to enter a strong password just to make a call on MY personal phone, never mind having to change it to an new strong password every month. Then the company decided earlier this year that they are no longer going to subsidize any of the BES plan -- which really sticks in our collective craw because we only have it so that we can more efficiently serve the company -- so BES is staying off my BB's from now until forever. How's that for digressing.)
I don't use BBM because there's nobody in that place I want/care/need to chat with.Ed

At my highschool, I see about the same amount of BB as iPhone. Then I see the few nerdy or *preppy girls with Android.
Ratio looks like this.

Not too many of my close friends have smartphones. Feature phones -shudder-. I know 2 people with BBs and only one of them has a data plan. I don't really use BBM since I hardly know anyone that uses it and I can talk to everyone else through Beejive IM anyhow.Blackberry Pearl 8110 > Curve 8310 > Bold 9000 > Torch 9800 > Q10 > Passport

Honestly, I'd say that I don't know what about 50% of my friends use for phones, and frankly, I really don't care.
The other 50% have iPhones. There's a message hidden there; who gets it?

I noticed that.
The FIRST People you notice with phones are people with iPhone.
Blackberry's are harder to spot but they are there.

Vast majority of my immediate family including inlaws except for one sister in law who has an Android device and her daughter. One cousin has an iPhone.
I have no clue how many people I have on BBM who are close family and friends. I would guess I have around maybe 50ish? I've never counted.
Of course, everyone at work is on Blackberry, and I couldn't begin to list them.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy, and good with ketchup
