How many of you are itching to upgrade and get this new Iphone? I have been a BB user for about 4 or 5 years and am just getting tired of everything. Any interesting app costs money, new OS upgrades are slow and sluggish, and the list goes on and on. I do not hate BB, I just wanted to see how many of you are going to be ditching your BB for the new Iphone?

BB til' I or RIM dies.

I'm actually converting/have converted iPhone users to BB because they're looking for a better communications tool and not just an App launcher.

I'm staying with BB. The iphone doesn't do anything I need or want to do that BB doesn't do just fine, it has no real keyboard, and I don't really care about looking someone else's idea of cool (or like part of the herd).
Last edited by DCAce; 11-03-11 at 03:45 PM. Reason: some days the keyboard is more like a ouija board

I like my 9900 and playbook way too much to switch. I'm good to go with that combo for the next couple of years I think.

I've left Blackberry a couple of times but always seem to come back. Windows OS is certainly better than Android (in my opinion) and that's who I'd go with if I was to leave. Never tried an iPhone for more than a few minutes. I'd like to try one for a few days and see how I get on.

Qwerty keyboard keeps me on my 9900, as well as BBM (as six family members are also on it) and apps like Twitter and Facebook, which I think might be the best of all the platforms for reliable notifications and ease of use. Blackberry 7 isn't great as an OS as I don't think it runs very well in terms of smoothness. Still seeing hourglasses all over the place and it bugs me.

Boy I went on a bit there

Going from physical keyword to onscreen keyboard is the worst. I had a Android and returned it days later for another BB it's just too hard to type fast on especially if you have to reply to a lot of emails and whatnot.

I text and email more than anything else on my phone so, for me, BlackBerry is perfect. I reeaaaallly hope that RIM will keep giving us phones with physical QWERTY keypads a la Bold and Torch sliders.

The iPhone does nothing I want or need that my Blackberry does not do.

I have zero interest in touchscreen only devices and that includes QNX touch screen only devices. As long as Rim makes the full physical qwerty form factor phones I am staying with BB.

I was BB for about 5 or 6 years, went iPhone when iPhone 4 launched and some huge changes would have to be made for me to ever consider coming back.

It looks like the answer is a resounding "No". I don't blame them.

If I had to make a list of my preferences, it would look something like Blackberry -> WebOS -> Windows Phone -> Dumb phone -> Android -> Mameo -> land line -> iPhone

I still have a year and a bit left in my contract with a carrier that has a limited selection of phones outside of BB and iPhone so my options will be somewhat limited unless they do something radical like get Samsung Galaxy IIs or Windows 8 is amazing from day 1 and they carry one of their phones.

If I had to buy today...definitely some soul searching would be happening. Not as much as a slam dunk as it would have been a few months ago. That's not because the iPhone got much better or world beating either...

If QNX is a bust or delayed way too long then I will look to get myself one of those Nokia Windows phones.

Just curious do you really have the 9650? Try the 9930 and then see if you have the same feeling. Everyone wants to dump bb for the latest greatest toy yet they have a 2yr old device. 9650 is old. just sayin.
