On January 13th I dropped my 9900 on my tile floor. At first nothing seemed to be wrong with it but a few days later I noticed several vertical lines and a small blotch at the top. I found a place near me that would replace the LCD for $90, he told me he had it in stock. I drove down on the 17th and what do you know he didn't have it. He tells me he can order it and have by the 21st. On the 21st the display got worse, so bad I can see anything. Here it is the 23rd and he still hasn't received it. Even though it's an inconvenience I am not without my device.

Thanks to BlackBerry Bridge and my PlayBook I am getting everything on my PlayBook, all my emails, text messages, contacts, calendar and web browsing.

The phone still works fine to make and receive calls.

Any thoughts I might have had about switching to an Android, Windows or iPhone are all gone!

When I describe the bridge feature to people their eyes either glaze over or they assume I'm talking about using the phone as a mobile hotspot. Last month I was in Vegas, and the hotel had no free wifi (apparently it keeps people from playing in the casinos) so I surfed on the playbook through the bridge to find places for breakfast, web surf, etc. Wife's ipad is not wifi, and it has no bridge feature, so she could only use it for playing solitaire.

I do alot of contract work in rural Saskatchewan and most places i stay at do have wifi however, the signal is not always strong enough for use in the room, bar or restaurant. I have been the envy of a few people when i sit down and can use the internet via bridge, its amazing how some of the BB basher's change they're tune when they see that.

Although there are apps like Tablet Talk that let you link between Android tablet and phone, giving you SMS and phone capabilities. One of the neat things with Tablet Talk is that will let you answer calls from the tablet screen, as well as dial from the tablet. That's something I wish my PlayBook could do.
