I accidentally archived a number on my blackberry passport and now I want to restore it how is this done

Two ways:
1) Pull down the chats list past the top, and you'll see a drop-down control. This lets you filter the chats list to show Individual Chats, Group Chats, or Archived Chats.
2) Use the search feature (action menu -> "Search") to find the chat. Archived chats always appear in search results

When an archived chat is visible in the chat list, long-press and select "Unarchive" from the menu
