How do I put live video on a BlackBerry ?
Hello,
I want to put live video on recent model BlackBerry's. Not recorded video clips of limited duration, but real-time, "endless" streams of live video in real time.
I've been looking and looking, and the only format that seems plausible is an endless series of JPEG images with Java or JavaScript pulling down the next frame every fraction of a second.
Is there a better way to do this ? I'd rather not have to load any custom apps into the device.
And, if JPEG's are the best way to go, what do you suggest for a real-time, JPEG encoder to run on my web server ? I want a neutral video input, so I want to capture a portion of the screen on my server and encode it continuously into endless JPEG's. In effect, I'm looking for the equivalent of a Windows Media Encoder that encodes part of the screen of my server into an endless series of JPEG's in real time, instead of into a live, video streaming format that's only supported on Windows devices. I can't find such a real-time JPEG encoder for Windows Media Encoder.
Thanks in advance for your help.
