I came here looking for a wallpaper for my 9000. Then found out I need to be a registered member. Sure, let's do that.
Then, after quite a while, I had an OS loading issue with my 9780, and saw in the blog comments that someone had posted files to correct it. Couldn't get them with logging in, and that's when I really became active.
When I first got a Blackberry my mom told me to come
on here & learn all the tricks & how-to's of Blackberry.
I've been "lurking" since 2010 but didn't make an account until this year.
In 2009 after getting my second BB, I googled if I could use my AT&T sim with a non AT&T BB phone. Crackberry forum answers came up. So after I followed instructions, I joined. There is def a WEALTH of knowledge here. I love this place, lol.
I had previously been a Nokia (Symbian) user, but I ended up with a 9000 in May 2009, after issues with the Nokia I had.
I told a friend I got a BlackBerry, and he recommended the site. He had been using an 8830 at the time and was a BES admin (still is--but the company he works for where he is the IT guy allows other devices now, so he has an iPhone now).
I recommended the site to my doctor's receptionist when I saw that she had a 9000, after I helped her with a theme. I have no idea if she ever joined or if she still uses BlackBerry.
Very simply, I came to the most booming Blackberry community in the world because I have gotten a Blackberry. I have never used a Keyboard smartphone, most feature phones, and since then I have used Iphones and Android phones, but when I saw how it was possible to type faster and longer on a Blackberry phone through YouTube ads, that was when I broke down and got a 9900. It was Blackberry addiction for me after that.
Since I have listening to Mobile Nations pretty regularly, it was little surprise that I eventually ended up in Crackberry. Kevin, our Faithful leader, is pretty hard to ignore, especially now with the longer mane. Heh.
I turned up here while doing searches to learn about what BB model would be right for me. I was issued a company owned 9650 in January of this year and quickly realized I had to have one of my own. Thanks to various posters here for the information which helped me choose the 9930. I've been very happy with it and, like most BB fans, I'm looking forward to BB10.
I was doing a search on some stuff, and came across this a while back. Just recently signed up again as I forgot all my credentials from my prior log in.
Doing a Google search to get my Playbook up and running. The playbook would not go thru the setup steps properly and here is where I found the help. Now is part of my home pages. Have since added a BB phone and have been trying to follow the news and developments of the BB10.
been with bb since 2007 but didnt join crackberry until after i got my 9860 on launch last aug. was looking for info about the new device and found all the information i needed right here. still cant believe it took me that long!
Googled here too... joined in 2010 ... read for about a year before I posted, and still learning from these posters and their knowledge... Yes, alot of it goes way over my head, but I try to retain some of it!
God that's a good question lol. I'm not sure I remember. I'm sure a Google search had something to do with it though. Been an avid user since my 1st BlackBerry, which was the Nextel 8350i BlackBerry Curve. I was a Nextel user for 6 yrs and once I was done with the best they had to offer it was time to switch to Sprint and grab my 1st 3G smartphone, which was the BlackBerry Style. After a year of using it I bought my Bold 9930 off contract and have never looked back.
Be it the news on the blogs, or the great people here in the forums, CrackBerry has become my cyberspace home. I'm on here more than my doctor recommends (lol) and looking to a great future here on my home away from home.
I purchased a BB handset and want to discuss about blackberry's phone. Just Google and find this site is number 1 for all blackberry discussions. All members are quite active and too good in replies. So i just joined the site. Love you all members .....
It was the 9330 (or whatever the Storm was!) for me. Mostly OS research, and then an appreciation for the members (e.g. Crucial) who are so generous w/their knowledge and time. I came in pretty blind w/a list of "needs" from WinMo. The Storm was picked as the "best fit" for my uses. Had no clue at the time it was the latest (and at the time, hard to get) phone! Lol. "Beginner's luck." Got it on Day 1 having asked the store to hold one a couple days before.
Still love the CB, but there were definitely fewer trolls and such back then. Now rocking the 9930 and couldn't be happier. Will definitely do the BB10 (probably keyboard version).
Sent from a mysterious device beyond your wildest imagination...
I used to be on Howardforums, then symbianfreak with my Nokias and googled for reviews on the 8320, which I was planning to buy after a failed attempt with The Nokia E71 and Mail for exchange. Came across Blackberry forums and this one. Loved the colors on this site and found Blue on the other too drab
P.S. I used to use Blackberry connect on my Nokia E50 and when Nokia discontinued it on the E71 onwards, started searching for Blackberry phones, which got me here.
I remember...I was searching for future BlackBery phones (early 2011) and came across the BlackBerry Roadmap blog post on CrackBerry which was the PlayBook and all BlackBerry 7 phones. But I didn't actually start getting involved in the forums until a month ago. I always just checked the blog. I created an account in September I think last year but never really used it until now.
