I'm thinking of buying a dirt cheap unlocked 8900 off someone. How do I go about checking the pin out?

I'm not sure if it works on the 8900, but what I do is hold down shift, alt and h.

You could also go to options, then status .

In regards to the pin, what exactly do you want to "check out"?

Call up whatever carrier the guy was using and ask if the pin has been released.

I want to make sure it wasn't blacklisted or a stolen device, that is my main concern. It's an unlocked Rogers 8900 by the way

Maybe phone RIM and see if the pin has been reported stolen or lost. Also the previous owners carrier might know too.

I decided to let this one go, I'm not to thrilled with the replies the seller is giving me, something seems fishy. Anyway thanks for all the replies
