    So when I decide to update to the "leaked" version of BB 10.3.1 on my Z10 will I loose my app, data, media and so on?

    Its STL 100-3 by the way

    You can always do a back up and restore with BB link , I believe it comes back with just about all items now.

    Depends on your method that you use to load it. If you run an autoloader, then you should definitely backup/restore. If you do a nondestructive install, then you'll be fine.
